As you likely are aware, campus ministry is one key element of the revamped Apostolic Youth Corps (www.pentecostalyouth.org). In addition to placing students in overseas campus locations to minister, AYC-Campus is also reaching out to North American colleges and universities. With over 16 million college students to reach out to, the need for dedicated full-time campus ministers has never been more acute. College students are uniquely in a time of transition, and are actively looking for answers to the many questions they have about defining themselves and the rest of their lives. Can there be a better place to "go ye therefore and teach…" than a college campus?

As part of this effort, Scott and Aimee Patterson have been selected as the first full-time AYC-sponsored North American campus ministers, and will be focusing on Penn State University and the Pennsylvania College of Technology starting in August. Scott has been the Pennsylvania District campus ministry Coordinator for several years, and he and Aimee have substantial experience and dedication to reaching college students. In fact, both were baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost while they were college students, and fully understand the vast potential that campus ministry represents. Speaking of that potential, the combined population at these two campuses alone is over 44,000 students from all over North America, plus an additional 3,000 international students from around the world.

Apostolic Youth Corps-Campus provides the mechanism to place campus outreach workers full-time on campus, and works by partnering with individuals and churches for support. Scott and Aimee are both college graduates and are resigning professional employment to be full time campus ministers. The laborers are approved, willing, and ready. The campus population is in place. All that is needed is for sufficient support to be in place to make this ministry happen.
