Ignite Campus Ministry (ICM) will have two primary goals at Bethel University. First, Ignite has been designed to be a connect point for Apostolic-Pentecostal students. As a connect point the goal will be to unite, strengthen, and encourage Apostolic-Pentecostal students while they endeavor to pursue their education away from their home church family. Secondly, Ignite will serve as a medium used to reach the lost souls in this community of young adults through bible studies, worship opportunities, and social activities both on and off campus. Ignite has partnered with Calvary Tabernacle UPC McKenzie, Tennessee and Christ Community Pentecostal Church Henderson, Tennessee to reach the students, faculty, and staff of Bethel University in McKenzie Tennessee. Bethel is a Christian University associated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. An tangible desire for acceptance, love, mercy, and salvation can be felt in every setting on campus. The burden for the souls represented at this campus is likened to the passage in Matthew 9:36-38 when Jesus was moved with compassion at the sight of the multitudes scattered and faint. There are approximately 2,000 students on campus with a total enrollment of 4,000 + students. There are approximately 21 countries represented by the International students on this campus providing the Gospel of Jesus Christ an open door to go into all the world as we are commanded to do in Matthew 28:16-20. Many years of prayer, fasting, and outreach have been put forth by the local church, Calvary Tabernacle, for the harvest at Bethel University. As Jeremiah 51:33 reads, "the time of the harvest shall come", it is time the Apostolic-Pentecostal students begin to prepare for and receive the harvest in McKenzie Tennessee. The burden for this campus was birthed in the Spirit of the local church, Calvary Tabernacle, and the burden for this ministry developed out of a summer of personal evangelism by two young apostolic students from Christ Community Pentecostal Church Henderson, Tn. Ignite Campus Ministry is committed to the cause of Christ and we step out in faith with great expectation for what God has in-store for us.
